We are using Herbert Nicolle’s true life story as a spy in WW2 as a stimulus for our own creative writing this week.

Numeracy

This week we are looking at percentages of amounts and continuing to apply these to working with pie charts.

Jersey Residential Trip Information Evening – Wednesday 25th April 

This will take place in the school hall from 6pm. Parents/Carers and Year 5 children are invited to come along and find out what we will be getting up to and what you will need.

Evacuation Day – Friday 4th May

We are looking for volunteers to come and help us ‘evacuate’ to the Parish Hall on Friday morning. We are also looking for volunteers who would be able to help with our tea party in the afternoon.  Please contact Mrs De Sousa sandra.desousa@stmartins.sch.gg if you are available.  Feel free to come in 1940’s style clothing too!

Food from the Occupation – something you might be interested in ……

The walled garden team at Saumarez Park are holding a ‘Living off the Land’ day this Sunday 29th April.  As part of this they will be cooking recipes from the Occupation, including a Potato Peel Pie competition.
